Garden PLANTED!

FINALLY!!!!  Yesterday I finished planting the garden.  I was able to get in my pumpkins, butternut squash and spaghetti squash.  I also made some sandwich rolls and, of course, dinner.  I was able to clean up the kitchen in between those times.  (It’s already a mess again. I watched a movie made in the 50’s about Gladys Aylward called “The Inn of the Sixth Happiness.”  I had heard that it was good, but I was actually really disappointed in it.  Apparently, after doing some research, Gladys Aylward was embarrassed of the movie because it so inaccurately portrayed her life.

Beans, Beans

Our beans our coming up great!  They look beautifully healthy.  I thought perhaps the soil would be too acidic for them, but maybe it’s alkaline.  I’ll have to get a soil testing kit sometime.

Yesterday we were able to get in 8 new tomato plants and 6 cucumber.  We put up the fence for the cukes, but were only able to get the poles in for the beans.  A thunderstorm overtook us right as Eric got the last pole in the ground.  I still have to get in the [...]
